analysis of fortune cookies

Fortune cookies are kind of cool I guess. Most think they are a tradition that China has gifted the world, but that is not the case. The origin of fortune cookies is unclear, but most believe that they were made popular by Japanese immigrants in California in the 19th or early 20th century.
The message inside a fortune cookie contains a fortune or brief prophecy & may contain lucky numbers, as well as a chinese phrase. The fortune often gives a positive message.
Even for people who don’t believe in fate (or fortune), these cookies are a source of intimate hope. One cannot simply read a fortune cookie & not apply it to their life. Once an individual reads the fortune they evaluate their current situation in life & analyze how the fortune can fit into their crazy life puzzle. Or if it a fortune that offers advice, one attempts to apply it to their life in an effort to better their current life situation.
Whether it is advice or an actual fortune, fortune cookies somehow bring the world to a more hopeful state & bring a connectedness between us all. So I guess fortune cookies are kind of cool.
