The Five Love Languages

Something I learned about in my Interpersonal Communication class was the topic of the 5 Love Languages.

It’s really interesting how love is different for each individual, not just how it happens but in the sense of how each person feels. A simple action like taking out the trash can mean the same as receiving flowers to two different individuals. But how can this be? Love is love, right? Wrong! Love is different for everyone when it comes down to the things you or your partner does to make the other happier.

I feel that my own person love languages are physical touch and receiving gifts. I’ve always been a physical expression kind of person. I am a very lucky girl with wonderful parents who told me they loved me all the time. So, when someone goes out of their way to physically remind me and remind me or show how much they love me, just means all that more to me.

People who complement each other’s needs and wants are going to work out the best which is why I believe that having the same one or understand your parents in extremely important for a healthy relationship.
