Why Latvia is special

Do you feel Latvia the way I feel it? Do you feel the daily kisses of the Baltic wind? Do you hear how your sun laughs specially? Do you notice how trees are dancing?
How do you feel it? Does Latvia open to you more than to me? Do you notice what I do not notice? Do I notice what you don’t see?

In a month, I will leave home to Ukraine. Of course, I will come more than once, and I will continue to work on the magazine with the Latvian team. But in the near future, I will not live here.
During this month, I want to share how I saw your Riga and your Latvia.
In the ninth month of my life in Latvia, I discovered that I was blind during the whole of my life before. This did not create any difficulties for me: I felt calm, walked in a circle, as befits a decent person.

Latvia stopped me and did not allow me to move.
I was staying and feeling sad, lost, offended. And then the eyelids tickled, and I saw.

I saw a tree that picks its branches in the green hair — its own and the others. I saw a white path along the Daugava in Kengaraks. I saw a lot of the most diverse eyes. I saw how the wind rises from the sea and runs to kiss my face. I saw the birds dancing. Saw how flowers are enjoying. How people admire the beauty of houses and how houses admire the beauty of people.

I am terrified that someone might not see this. I want to sing about it, scream, dance, write, and whisper.

I will write it to you. And then you go and whisper it to someone good. And all of our lands will smile.

Without Latvia, I would not have become sight.
The point is in your day and your night. Your winter is dark, and this is not contrary to a man but in his name. Winter slows you down, leads into thoughts. In summer, the day is so long that there is no time to think. All bodies are clogged with feelings to the eyeballs. Just find time to sleep off!

It makes you unique. Nature plays with you and cares for you like a wise mother. For us.
