Easy Guide to Start Your Blog from Scratch Part One

Before I go into the ‘How To’ guide, I will tell you why I started my blog.

I always had a lot to share with friends and family — I have a huge appetite for talking and giving advice, so I realised this could be of good use if I started to write my stories down and share them with the world.

My Mum dreamed of becoming a journalist — which also imprinted in me. So although she did not manage to write formally, it shaped my dreams to start my journey. And not to mention writing for me is therapeutic.

You are here because you are playing with the idea of starting your blog.

You might have already set your blog up, but you feel like you could use some advice or read about the experiences of others. Whatever your reason is for being here, please stay, and I will share my journey with you.

First, I am structured regarding my profession — not so much in my personal life! — but that is a different story.

I desperately sought an easy guide to making a start, a book or blog post, and while researching the topic, I came across Sally.

Sally Miller is a bestseller author; she published plenty of books that cover topics like working from home and how to succeed in an online business. I was interested and wanted to learn how to start my blog. I started reading Sally’s ‘Make Money From Blogging’

The book is an excellent guide to working through point-by-point what to do. Very informative.

I read the whole book, made some notes and started my project.

Firstly I needed to collect some ideas of topics — what shall I write about.

I did some soul-searching and asked around some friends and family members — to check the topics I often talk about passionately; I shortlisted a few areas: Mental Health, Parenting and Relationships.

After establishing the three main areas, I started brainstorming some titles/blog post ideas.

All of these before I even started to build my website. I knew that to launch a blogger website, I had to start with more than one post.
